Zones and look for accommodation in London

When you arrive for the first time in a new place, the most important thing is look for accommodation.

If you've already decided to come to London or just you are thinking about it, we want you know that you can find different zones in London and also we want to give you some advice to look  for accommodation.

First of all, you should know that London is divided in 6 zones. The 6 zones form concentric rings around zone 1 which is the most central area (white); while the furthest zone to central is zone 6 (pink).

The general rule says that the most central you live, the most expensive the rents are. On the other hand, looking for accommodation in zone 6 can be very cheap but it has high cost regarding time and comfortably. Maybe at the beginning you won't mind leaving far from Central, but once you arrive here you will realise the importance of being well connected because of large London's distances.

Once you know the location of your working place, you will find it easier to look for an accommodation in the same area (considering how big this city is ;), leaving close to your work place will allow you to reduce the time and money you spend on public transport, which can compensate a higher rent.

Our best tip is to look for a well connected place, where you can easily reach the Overground, DLR, bus stops and, of course, the tube (the most suitable, fastest and most frequent connection in London).
Let's check some of the most famous zones you might be interested in living:

Hackney: Zone 2, Post-industrial borough of London, has attracted some cultural development and has caused land values to rise but unfortunately it's not a completely safe area.

Camden: Zone 2, a famous borough in London because of its popular street markets, the fourth-most popular attraction in London. Area plenty of tourists and not so comfortable to live.

Westminster: Zone 1 and the most touristic one, you can find here the most emblematic places such a Big Ben, the House of Commons and Westminster Abbey, that's why rents are extremely high in this area.

Tower of Hamlets: Zone 2, it should be pointed out as the area of Canary Wharf, the new business district in London, very quite and safe zone to live in, it's almost residential but with plenty of amenities and all the comforts of being the new most important place for business here in London.
